Chapter 5 Microsoft Word Mail Merge

Chapter 5 will be the first chapter we cover and the topic is mail merge. Your next to assignments are:

  • Your vocabulary assignment is on the P:drive, Fall 2009, Gannon, Computer Applications, then click on Chapter 5 Vocab. This is due by Wednesday! No late work excepted.
  • When you finish the vocabulary for Chapter 5, complete the flashcards on the following website. Bookmark this page because you will use it for every chapter. Make sure you click on Chapter 5 flashcards. Type in the # 30 and your first and last name. Then, click on flip card. Watch this video if you still don't know what to do. You may replay the flashcards as many times as you want to get the grade you want. When you get your grade, file print. Hand in for a grade. These are due by Friday!

The printer in this room does not support double-sided printing. The part to support double sided printing will be ordered today and should be here within 3 days, hopefully!

  • Remember you must post a link to your calendar blog post for me to grade your calendar. Please view my previous posts for the directions on how to do this. Or, ask a fellow classmate for help. If you still need to set up a Gmail account, see me!

How to submit your calendar for grading

Here is an example of what your blogspot.com account will look when you post your calendar to your blog. You will have to do this for each month. Your title page will be a separate image. Post your images in order. Post your pictures 3 at a time and then save. Go back and edit the post to add 3 more images. Continue this process until all of your pages are posted.

Please watch this video to learn how to do this

Why I want you to get a Gmail account!!!!!!

By Friday, everyone needs to have a Gmail account. Click here for a video demonstrating RSS feeds and Google Reader. Gmail offers numerous free applications. One is blogspot.com. You log into Blogspot.com using the same username and password as your Gmail account. Watch this video for a demonstration. Also with Gmail you get to use googledocs! We will talk about this later.

Everyone needs a Gmail account!

I am requiring everyone to create their own gmail account. I do not want you to use your own personal account, I want you to create a new one for this class. After you have a gmail account, you need to go to blogger.com to set up your own blogging site. You have the option to upload a picture and create a profile.
