mAIL mERGE!

yEAH! One of my favorite topics to teach is the Mail Merge feature in Microsoft Word. Today I will start you out with W 10 and 11 which covers the mail merge feature.

Also, by the end of class today, you need to have W 7-9 saved in your folder on the P:drive.

I wasn't able to get your assignment graded but they will be updateded over the weekend. Make sure you have all of your projects completed. Today you will be getting your Skateboard Inc. workbooks. Skateboard Inc. is an integrated Microsoft Office simulation. It will be as if you are employed by Skateboard Inc. it will be your job to make sure Skateboard Inc. is ready for its opening day.

Chapter 6 End of Chapter Assignments

Design and create an energy drink presentation

Energy drinks are a popular alternative to coffee and caffeinated beverages. In this $4 billion industry, some energy drinks have up to four times the caffeine contained in popular Colas. Compare the ingredients in at least 3 different energy drinks, including the ones you or your friends drink regularly. Compare price, serving size, calories, sodium, carbohydrates, niacin, and B-group vitamins. Then read articles or search the Internet to find nutrition experts' reviews and opinions of these drinks' taste and effect. Then use the concepts and techniques presented in the chapters you learned to develop and format a slide show reporting your findings. Include a formatted table comparing the energy drinks. Enhance the presentation with at least one formatted clip art. Include hyperlinks to three of the drinks' Web sites. Be sure to check your spelling. You must compress all pictures and password protect your presentation.

GWAM (Gross Words A Minute) is the calculation of keyboarding speed by taking the total words keyed and dividing by the time allowed. For example, keyboarding a total of 90 words in a three minute timing would mean 90/3 = 30 gross words per minute or 30 GWAM. There is no deduction for errors when calculating GWAM.

Welcome back to Computer Apps
